Last week, my friend Chris officially launched his newest project – Citygram. When he first approached me about being a part of the magazine and taking photos for it, I was excited. And then I was completely blown away once he showed me the sample he had put together. It’s one of the first truly interactive, made for tablet magazines out there that I’ve seen. And it’s amazing. The technology is one thing, but the content is even better. He’s gathered some really fantastic contributors, from Tolly Moseley to Jess Simpson. And this first issue even has a column from Joy the Baker!

New Orleans Sneak Peek

This weekend I went to New Orleans for the first time. My awesome friend Kathy had her bachelorette party weekend there, so a bunch of us took a road trip out there and ate delicious food, met both crazy and nice people, and got a great impression of the city.

I have so many photos from my SLR to load up and edit, but for now, here’s a few iphone photos I took…

That same night we headed to Sway, we stopped by Lenoir next and had a lovely time on their back patio. We had wine and snacks and listened to great musicians that helped to provide the evening with a most perfect atmosphere.

A few weeks ago, we celebrated my friend Crystal’s birthday by doing a little walk around South 1st street and seeing where we ended up. We started out the night at Sway, ordered a few appetizers to share, and had some wine and beer. I must say, this was my first visit here and I fell in love with the place. The atmosphere is perfect. The inside is darker and wooded, and the outside is gorgeous with this fantastic wall. And just before we were about to leave, Robert Rodriguez walked in and sat at a table right by us.

Below are a few of the photos I took while there. All of the photos except the bottom two were taken with my iphone cause I didn’t want to pull out my giant SLR to take photos of all the food.

East Side King at Hole in the Wall

On Friday, I had the opportunity to meet a group of friends over at East Side King Hole in the Wall for lunch. I’d been wanting to try out their ramen bowls, and since I felt a tad bit under the weather, they sounded even better! And it was delicious. Just what I needed.

Lunch yesterday. Although I didn’t make these from scratch, I’d love to try sometime. I just have to buy dumpling wrappers.. and a lot of other ingredients.

SXSW Snapshot

This year, I was lucky enough to photograph for SXSW. Which means I spent the entire 9 days walking around downtown and the Convention Center, capturing photos of panels, events, people, etc. And here are the photos I got in-between doing all of my assignments….

I decided to have a little fun with these, so I edited them all using VSCO Film.

Bikes are an essential mode of transportation during SXSW.

And then you’re walking along Sixth Street and see this happening….

SXSW isn’t just music, it’s movies (and interactive) too!

Downtown Austin is all dressed up with pretty lights.
