Published: Edible Austin Fall

Guess what just came out last week? The Fall issue of Edible Austin! I did a shoot for this issue a couple of months ago, and if was fun to finally see the photos in print! The story I shot was all about raw foods and making delicious food without having to cook anything. Even better? The issue has raw food recipes in it! You can pick up a copy free at Whole Foods and also check out a condensed version online here.

Below are some shots of the article! Note.. I did not shoot the cover image, that was taken by Austin photographer Dustin Meyer.

Published: Cho Sushi for Austin Monthly

If you are friends with me on twitter or facebook, you may have seen me talking about a mysterious package I received on Tuesday and how I didn’t know what it could be. Well.. I picked it up yesterday, and inside was a copy of the August issue of Austin Monthly!

Every month the magazine features a different restaurant in their food section, and I took the photos for this month’s article about Cho Sushi (which btw.. is very very tasty). I’m excited about all the photos they used, and as a really great surprise, they used one of them in the table of contents section at the front of the magazine!

TODO Austin July Cover

Look below. Yes, those are flags made out of food.

TODO Austin is a fantastic publication here in Austin that focuses on the city’s multicultural community. For the July issue, the focus was on fusion foods, so the talented Kathy Phan and I brainstormed ideas for the cover, and came up with this. We spent a morning making these flags out of food and then took photos and wound up with this for the cover.

I think it looks quite fantastic.. although I’m not sure I would actually eat any of those flags. Black olives, pesto and mustard? No thanks.

Published: Cake Pops for the Austin American-Statesman

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of shooting a story for the Austin American-Statesman on… what else? Cake pops by Kathy Phan! They did a whole story on how to make Easter cake pops, complete with bunnies and chicks. Sooo cute. I got to watch her make them and take photos of the whole process.. the finished cake pops.. and then eat some! Yum. I think the strawberry ones might be my fav, so I am so glad she made those for this story!

The story was in the paper last Wednesday. There was a little photo on the front page of the paper, then a big photos on the front page of the food section, and more inside. Why am I describing this? Just look below to see what it looked like if you didn’t get a chance to see. Also.. if you didn’t see the paper and get to read the fantastic article by food writer Addie Broyles, check it out here.

Published: UT Law Brochure

Story:

UT Law puts out a brochure. This brochure is not about the law school itself, which I’m sure is fabulous, but it is all about Austin which is also fabulous.

I go to East Side Showroom last fall with some lady friends, we have drinks, I take pictures.

A few days later, I get contacted about them using one of my photos in their new brochure. We discuss, paperwork is done.

Brochure comes out (which is beautiful and very stylish), I get a copy, I share with you!

Here’s the photo which was used:

Published in Pictory

I’ve been a fan of Pictory since I saw their San Francisco showcase, and I frequently check out their photo stories to admire the work of other photographers.

On a whim, I decided to enter a photo to be considered for publication in the Pictory photo story for “Neighborhood Treasure.” And well.. what do you know? I found out today that the photo has been included as one of the 31 photos featured in the story. Looking through the rest of these photos, it’s so amazing to see many different parts of the world captured through the residents’ eyes (and cameras!) You can view the whole photo story here. Mine is #15.
