Citygram
Last week, my friend Chris officially launched his newest project – Citygram. When he first approached me about being a part of the magazine and taking photos for it, I was excited. And then I was completely blown away once he showed me the sample he had put together. It’s one of the first truly interactive, made for tablet magazines out there that I’ve seen. And it’s amazing. The technology is one thing, but the content is even better. He’s gathered some really fantastic contributors, from Tolly Moseley to Jess Simpson. And this first issue even has a column from Joy the Baker!
Head over to the Citygram site for a little sample, then go download the first issue for free through iTunes! And be sure to check out the article on Contigo that I photographed.
Austin Chef’s Table Book
The Austin Chef’s Table book is out today! I’m so excited to have worked with Crystal, the publishing company, and also all the fantastic restaurants, chefs, bartenders, and PR companies. This was such a fun project, and it feels like I’ve been waiting for so long for this book to come out! And here it is. I’ve included a few photos of the book, as well as a few images that appear in the book. Enjoy, and go pick up a copy!
Austin City Guide for VSCO
I was thrilled to shoot an Austin City Guide for Visual Supply Co. I journeyed around to some of my favorite Austin places, and took photos, and then edited them using VSCO Film.
I wish I could have included ALL my favorite Austin places, but I think that would have meant a city guide of over 50 places!
Go check out the Austin City Guide here to see which five places I decided to include.
Tipsy Texan Book Available for Pre-Order
On Friday, I found out that one of the books I photographed last year is now on Amazon!
More on this later, but for now I just wanted to share the cover image and make a squealing noise!
Photos for Plate Magazine
Sometimes photoshoots happen a long time ago. And then you head off to Europe and come back and get really busy shooting other stuff including a cocktail book and kinda forget about those photoshoots, even though they were awesome.
I did a shoot for Plate Magazine last June featuring incredible food made by Ned and Jodi over at Foreign and Domestic. And I’m just now posting the photos. Next up.. maybe I’ll post photos from my birthday dinner back LAST MAY. Sigh.
Enjoy!
Food Photography in Austin Chef’s Table Book
Midway through 2009, I found out that two of my photos were going to be in an issue of 7×7 magazine. This was the first time my photos were in an actual print publication. I was beyond excited. My photos! In print! Where people could see them! It was a first for me.
Since then, I’ve grown a lot as a photographer. I’ve taken photos for other magazines, restaurants, newspapers, and online publications.
And now, another first. A book. At the end of last year, and the beginning of this one, I spent a lot of time running around to different Austin restaurants photographing the delicious dishes that will appear in this book, the interiors, and sometimes the talented chefs. It was really a dream project. I hope my photos go along nicely with Crystal‘s eloquent writing. I can’t wait to see the finished book in person, but for now I’ll just be excited that it is listed on Amazon!
Once the book actually comes out March 5th, you can expect me to talk a lot more about it. But until then.. I’ll just go to the listing every few days and stare at it with anticipation.
