Sooo.. I promised you some strawberry posts.
On Sunday morning, I was up early, so I put on the water for coffee and immediately started making waffles.
However, I make waffles the easiest way possible (besides buying frozen waffles). I take the waffle mix, mix it up, then add in a few extra ingredients.
What I did for this one was take the box of Krusteaz Waffle mix, find the ingredients and mix them up, and then I add about 1/2 a tablespoon of vanilla extract and 1/2 a tablespoon of cinnamon to just give it something extra.
Put batter into heated waffle iron, make waffles, remove, top with cut strawberries, and sprinkle on some powdered sugar! A not-so-healthy but delicious breakfast.

When our friends Crystal and Justin invited us to join them on a little road trip to Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls to pick strawberries we immediately said yes.
We all gathered Saturday morning, ready for the drive and ready to pick some strawberries. Having these two in the car just makes time fly by, they are so great to be around! So the hour-long car trip felt like maybe 20 minutes?
We arrived at the farm, parked, and with temperatures in the 70s, it was the perfect weather to be outdoors in. We all wound up getting a lot of strawberries! So.. I’ve been perusing Pinterest trying to find some interesting recipes.
Here are a few I’m tempted to try:
Whatever I do wind up doing with the strawberries, I’ll be sure to post some photos here!
I love attending the Rachael Ray Feedback House during SXSW. This year’s party was just as fantastic as ever. Rockin’ bands, delicious food, perfect chill atmosphere.
1. Delicious, buttery corn on the cob
2. Ballpark franks. Delicious.
3. Blue Moon, water, sunglasses. A good SXSW.
4. Drinks and Jeni’s Ice Creams. Yum.
What is SXSW without delicious food? Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams was here in 2013, and it was great to see they were back in 2014!
I had the trio, which was three scoops and I chose the Salty Caramel, Lemon & Blueberries, and I think the Brown Butter Almond Brittle. So delicious. All of them.
One of the things I love about SXSW is not the free music, drinks, etc., but the small events like this one that pop up. Neiman Marcus had a small event where they brought in speakers (and bands). I did get to see a short panel that was incredibly inspiring by model Cameron Russell where she talked about giving others a voice.
And we walked through the house and I just loved what they did with the space! Here are a few photos I took while there with friends (my friend Chris took the one of me):
And this is more of SXSW.
I never made it into Fader Fort or the Hype Hotel. I actually didn’t see a lot of bands, sadly. But I still had a great time. I learned all about content marketing, wearable technology, and bitcoin. I remembered what a great event this is, for discovery of information, films and music. I saw the Silicon Valley tv show premiere and laughed. I ate free food. I paid to eat Jeni’s ice cream (worth it). I walked a lot. I took the bus. And I remembered why people from all over come to this city, for this event (and also why some people from Austin hide from it).
