Container Bar May Happen

If you’ve lived in Austin for awhile, you’ve heard about the possibility of Container Bar for a few years now. And then another year passes, and it still hasn’t been built.

Well.. I walked down Rainey Street last week on my way home from downtown, and it is actually in progress! This may happen, guys.

Easy Tiger

A couple of weeks ago, we were walking along on a cloudy Sunday, and we found ourselves walking by Easy Tiger.

Josh: “Do you feel like stopping by for a drink and a pretzel?”

Me: “Sure, if you do.”

Josh: “Ok.”

Simple as that. As we were walking in, I asked myself if I felt like a beer at 1pm. As I was deciding this, I saw a waitress walk by carrying two bloody marys. Suddenly, all thoughts of beer flew out of my head and I knew what I wanted.

We had Sydney along with us, and everyone loved her. A couple of people came up to say hi to her, and they brought her a big bowl of water with ice cubes. She loved hanging out there. And so did we. We need to start coming here more.

Ms. P’s Electric Cock

I’ve seen this place on South Congress so often. I’ve thought about stopping by so often. But I didn’t.. until Sunday.

Josh and I started out on our Sunday walk heading to Jo’s Coffee. We grabbed coffee, and I hoped to get a pastry. But the girl in front of us took the last sausage roll, and I didn’t want to pay $3-4 for a small croissant, so I decided not to get anything to eat.

Then, as we continued our walk down South Congress (PLEASE do not call it SoCo) on our way to Auditorium Shores, we spotted the sign for Breakfast Tacos. So we crossed the street and had ourselves some very filling, quite tasty tacos. Now I can’t wait to go back for lunch or dinner. And it’s only a short walk away from my house!

Pacific Northwest-like Weather

Yesterday it was cloudy and overcast most of the day. And it was lovely.

As much of a Texas girl as I am (I do like the 100 degree summer temperatures), sometimes it is nice to have an overcast day. And the cloudy, slightly cooler day made it feel like early summer in Seattle.

Here are some photos from Sunday’s walk:

Love in Washington DC

Today is Valentines Day. And a new season of House of Cards is released today. Two wonderful things.

So I thought, what better way to bring those together than a post that talks about love and Washington DC?

There is a certain event I haven’t shared yet here on the blog. And that item is that last August, on our trip to Washington DC, Josh and I got engaged!

We had such a wonderful trip, one of my favorite vacations thus far, and as we were at the Jefferson Memorial, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After asking him if he was serious a couple of times, I said yes.

And so.. here are some photos taken while visiting the Jefferson Memorial!
