A good night includes some honey rosemary syrup, made for use in drinks (with lemon + Topo Chico). Also crostini. Some with goat cheese + honey, others topped with goat cheese + smoked salmon + dried parsley.
One of the last things we did in DC before eating Shake Shack and grabbing our bags to head to the airport was visit the Old Post Office.
It was such a glorious day out, and cooler than average August DC temperatures. We started our day off by heading from Dupont Circle down to the White House, then walking down to a Farmers Market close by before walking over to the Old Post Office. I had been here before, in 2007, but as with any vacation, this was a completely different experience. For one thing, this time was on a weekday, so it was much less crowded. Back in 2007, I think I visited on a Saturday or Sunday.
We stepped into the building after having our bags checked (of course). The interior of the building reminded me a lot of the Armory building at the Seattle Center. You can see a photo of the interior below.
And then, we headed up two elevators to the roof! Which has great views of DC. Check out the photos below to see what I mean.
