Photos from the trip a few weeks ago to Washington DC! I have many more to post, but here’s the first set of overall DC photos.
So first of all, let me apologize for the lack of posts recently. It’s been a busy summer, and when I haven’t been working, I’ve been tempted to lay around on the deck and read and relax. That’s what summer is for, right?
Well, this last week I did something even better and took a vacation! We traveled to North Carolina, visited friends, and while there, we all took a road trip from Raleigh out to Asheville to the Biltmore Estate. If you don’t know what that is, read more about it here.
The house was MASSIVE. But it was so neat to read the little plaques and try to imagine people actually living there. It felt more like a museum than a house, definitely. You couldn’t take photos inside the house, but you could out on the grounds. The gardens were designed by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, of which I am a HUGE fan, so it was great to see another example of his work.
Below is a mix of photos taken with my Canon Mark3 and my iphone. Starting with an outdoor shot of the house.. well.. part of it..
And then the gardens and beyond..
Next up.. a few Raleigh photos, then onto Washington DC!
