My lovely, super-talented friend Kathy and I had been trying to plan a happy hour date at Contigo for ages. But things happen. Life happens. She gets crazy busy with prepping for craft shows, taking trips, etc. I get busy with photoshoots, Food Banjo, and then the massive two-week trip to Europe. But, a couple of weeks ago, we finally found an evening we were both free and we made it happen!
And then.. deliciousness happened. We each had two cocktails, and then split the crispy green beans, the watermelon with shishito peppers, and okra. And it was all so tasty. It’s really hard to go wrong with the crispy green beans. They are just always perfect. The watermelon was so refreshing on such a
warm scorching hot day, and the shishito peppers added a nice, light spiciness to the dish. And I’m not usually an okra fan, as I find it a bit slimy, but this was perfect and the flavor was wonderful, and tasted a bit asian-inspired even.

One of my favorite things we did in London was visit the Borough Market. We happened upon it one afternoon, but they were closing up all the booths. We walked around, but resolved to come back when it was open so we could actually sample some of the delicious food. So after jetting off to Paris, and Barcelona, once we arrived back in London, we headed back to the market. It was great. We sampled cheeses, pot de caramel, breads, ate an empanada, and a delicious duck sandwich. Yum.
