Last Wednesday night, I was really excited about dinner in Marfa. I searched online for a bunch of listings.. read Yelp reviews.. and decided on a place. Pizza Foundation. Yelp reviews said “these guys know how to make a good pizza” and “Hands down, the BEST PIZZA, in the United States.” I wanted to try it. So we made plans. We started drinking a bottle of REALLY fantastic Four Vines wine in our hotel while listening to records, then walked over to Pizza Foundation. And found out it was closed. Silly Marfa hours. I should have paid closer attention to the hours on their Yelp page.

So we walked, and passed by Cochineal. I wasn’t dressed for Cochineal, which is a nice restaurant. I had my hair in a ponytail and I was wearing my Chuck tennis shoes. Not ideal. But we went inside anyways. After looking at the menu for that night, I wasn’t sorry anymore. The food looked FANTASTIC. I ordered some sort of seared fish with roasted leeks and amazing mashed potatoes. Josh had some sort of chicken with couscous and something else that I can’t remember. Who cares, it was delicious.

So much so.. that we went back for breakfast the next morning. Josh had the Marfa Omelette which smelled amazing and I got French Toast sprinkled with powdered sugar and a side of bacon. Delicious again.
