Mount Bonnell
Sometimes I forget how much I love Austin. Then I actually go to places like this, the real places that make up the city instead of the suburby outskirts and it all comes crashing back to me.
Last Friday morning Josh and I bundled up and headed to Mount Bonnell around 7:15am. It was quiet up there. And the city looked peaceful and quiet under the overcast sky. I know that if I were actually down in the city, it would be bustling with people heading to work. But it’s all a matter of perspective.
After that, we headed over to Mozart’s to get some coffee and pastries for a nice breakfast and a view of the water. Here is where I saw some of the the bustle of the city. That place was buzzing with people having business meetings, moms meeting each other for an early morning breakfast and a couple of people working on laptops.
Enjoy your city.

If you want to get away from the city pace, try going to Mayfield Nature Preserve right down the road from Mt. Bonnell. Seems like a place you could go trigger happy with your camera at.

That’s a great idea! I’ve never been there. I’ll have to look it up and take a trip. Thanks for the suggestion, Ruben!
