Snippets of Los Angeles

So often I share pictures of an entire place, zoomed out so I can get much of the location in the photo. I do this because I want people like you to be able to see what it was like there, the whole place, not just a little snippet I chose to zoom in on and share. For example, if you haven’t been to the Getty you can see it and what it’s like to be there.

But I also like the little areas. The areas that I can pick out to showcase. Like how fascinating I found a white staircase to look against a grey/blue wall. So below I’m sharing a few snippets of downtown Los Angeles from around the places I visited.

Last Week…

Last week started off with having no stuff. All our stuff was still en route from Seattle, hanging out in California somewhere. But finally, after weeks of waiting, our stuff arrived Tuesday evening! So they rest of the week was spent kinda unpacking and getting used to having furniture and kitchen stuff again.

Friday we wound up taking a break to walk along Shoal Creek again and we stopped off downtown to hear a band that was playing outside at City Hall before continuing on a journey around the hike and bike trail where we spotted lots and lots of people making the trek out to Austin City Limits. A trip to ikea and lots of rain helped round out the week.

Along Shoal Creek

Today Josh and I got up for a morning walk along Shoal Creek in Austin. I love this walk. It’s just so varied and there are so many cool things you can encounter on the path. Homeless people sleeping under the bridges, frisbee golf players, random articles of clothing, turtles hanging out on rocks.

We had to venture out to the street level for a few blocks because they were clearing out mud from under one of the bridges and I am glad we did. We passed by this cute little cafe that I want to go back and visit when I’m not wearing yoga pants and tennis shoes.
